This 1983 Fender Stratocaster Elite is one of Fender’s more unusual takes on the Strat, produced during a short-lived period where the brand was experimenting with new ideas and modern features. Built with a classic alder body and maple neck, it still carries that familiar Strat foundation, but with a noticeably more contemporary feel thanks to its flatter fingerboard and slim neck profile.

What really sets the Elite apart is its electronics. With active circuitry, an onboard mid boost, and Fender’s TBX tone control, it offers a much wider tonal range than a traditional Strat. The push-button pickup system replaces the usual selector switch, allowing for some unique combinations and giving it a slightly different approach to dialing in sounds.

It’s a bit of a left-field Strat, but that’s exactly the appeal, something that still feels familiar, just with a more experimental edge.
