Refund policy
At Guitars In The Attic, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. However, as a specialist in high-end and pre-owned instruments, we maintain strict criteria to ensure the integrity of our collection for all our customers.
1. 14-Day Return Window
You have 14 calendar days from the date you receive your item to notify us of your intention to return it.
- Notification: Please contact the team at 01623657301 or info@thegita.co.uk to begin the process.
- Return Period: Once authorized, you have a further 14 days to ensure the goods are returned back to our store.
- Timing: The return period starts from the date your order is originally received.
2. Condition & "Anti-Rental" Policy
We do not offer a "rental" service; items are sold for permanent purchase, and returns are intended only for evaluation purposes.
- Exact Condition: Goods must be returned to us in the same condition they arrived in.
- Pre-Owned Stock: As most of our stock is pre-owned, we document the condition of every instrument. Any signs of use or wear will result in a rejected return or an appropriate fee deducted from your refund.
- Protective Elements: All plastic coverings, films (pickguard/pickups), stickers, labels, and hangtags must be present and intact.
- No Software/Registration: Digital effects or amplifiers must not have any user data saved, and items must not be registered with the manufacturer.
3. Packaging Requirements
We kindly remind customers to ensure that the product packaging is kept in good, saleable condition when returning.
- Original Materials: Items must be returned with all original and supplied packaging completely intact.
- Protect the Box: Please do not write directly on the packaging or use heavy-duty black tape; place any return labels over the previous shipping label.
- Deductions: Any items returned where the packaging is not in a suitable resalable condition will not meet our returns criteria, and a fee may be deducted.
4. Digital Download Products
Due to the nature of digital goods, all sales of digital download products are final at the point of purchase.
- Non-Refundable: Digital software licenses and download codes cannot be refunded once the license key has been applied or the download has been initiated.
- Confirmation: By purchasing a digital product, you acknowledge that the sale is final and ineligible for return or exchange.
5. Shipping & Liability
- Customer Responsibility: Ensuring the safe return of goods for a refund is the customer's responsibility; the store will not collect non-faulty goods on your behalf.
- Costs: Unless your item is faulty, you are liable for all delivery costs associated with your return.
- Premium Services: We cannot refund additional charges for premium delivery services opted for at the point of ordering, such as Saturday delivery.
6. Faulty or Damaged Items
- Damaged in Transit: Please contact us at info@thegita.co.uk within 24 hours of delivery if your goods arrived damaged, including detailed pictures of the damage.
- Faulty Goods (30 Days): If a fault develops within the first 30 days, we will offer troubleshooting or arrange a collection for assessment. Items deemed faulty can be repaired, fully refunded, or exchanged.
- Non-Faulty Fees: Goods collected after 14 days (but before 30 days) that are deemed non-faulty will be returned to you, and a charge for collection and delivery will be made.
7. Exclusions
- Custom/Special Orders: Products that have been special-ordered, custom-built, or modified for you cannot be returned for a refund unless faulty.
- Hygiene Items: Products that come into contact with the ears or mouth cannot be returned for a refund once the factory seal or wrap is broken.
- In-Store Purchases: Our in-store policy is that "all sales are final." If you have visited and tried an item in person, there is no legal responsibility for a refund.
